Chael Sonnen comes out of retirement and signs a multi-fight, multi-year deal with Bellator.
He’s like to fight Tito Ortiz in November.
Chael retired in June 2014 after failing a second drug test and being removed from his fight with Vitor Belfort.
Chael says: I knew I was coming back, and there were more guys to beat up.
When asked why he chose Bellator, Chael said: "Zero apostrophe S," referring to the numbers written on his new paychecks.
Phil Davis and Rampage Jackson are also 2 potential future opponents for Chael in Bellator.
Chael turned 39 in April, he last fought in November 2013, which was a TKO loss to Rashad Evans.Brendan Schaub thinks this is the biggest signing in Bellator history.
Bellator recently signed top ranked welterweight Rory MacDonald.
Also this year they signed former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson. As well as former UFC heavyweight Matt Mitrione.
Mitrione has said he thinks if fighters stay in the UFC they’re foolish because he feels they are robbing themselves of future money and earnings.
Viacom owns Bellator, and president Scott Coker plans to continue to use their resources to acquire big free agents in the MMA landscape.
