What do you think this Fabricio Werdum punished for blasting UFC Reebok deal video?
Fabricio Werdum expressed his discontent with the low amount of money fighters receive from Reebok sponsorship, the brand the fighters must wear when they compete inside the Octagon.
Werdum posted a picture on his Instagram with the Reebok logo removed and the Nike logo put onto his shirt.
He also said suck my balls Reebok.
And Werdum also told MMA Junkie:
“(Nike and I) are negotiating, it’s going to happen – we’ll see if it happens, it depends on figures,
it depends on a lot of things. We might close (the deal), we might not.
But I went ahead because I’m not happy with Reebok. I’m not happy because making $5,000 per fight sucks.
For a person who made $100,000, $150,000 per fight, going to $5,000, it’s not easy. It was more a protest, but I’m already negotiating with Nike.”
Now Werdum says that he has reprimanded by being removed from his broadcasting duties on the UFC’s Spanish speaking network.
Fabricio Werdum rematches Cain Velasquez at UFC 207 on December 30th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
