What do you think this Bec Rawlings: Women's bodies not designed for extreme weight cuts video?
Bec Rawlings missed weight for her fight with Tecia Torres, she weighed in at 117.5 pounds, 1.5 pounds over the strawweight limit,
so 20% of her purse will go to Tecia Torres.
Bec says: Earlier this year I was finally diagnosed with Secondary Hypothyroidism after struggling with my weight & energy for
so long, & to add to that my hormones, cortisol & everything that fires this beast of a body has taken a hit from these nasty weight cuts to 115..
today I pushed my body to it’s absolute limits to try hit 116 & my body failed me.. I know people don’t exactly know what cutting weight entales
& are quick to judge & talk sh*t but I know I did everything in my power to make weight today. I’ve been calling for 125 for this reason,
women’s bodies are not designed to cut extreme amounts of weight & I am not the only UFC fighter with these issues, we need more divisions.
I’m still fighting, Tecia & her team ATT were very understanding & knew I couldn’t cut anymore & just want a good fight tomorrow night which
we will give. Can’t wait to fight & put on a show for the Houston Fans & everyone tuning in to see me fight
Aside from Rawlings, all other 23 fighters for the UFC Houston show made weight.
Liz Carmouche is injured so Gina Mazany replaces her to fight Sara McMann at UFC Halifax on February 19th.
Entwhistle vs Johns added to the UFC London show on March 18th.
