Kevin Lee wins by rear naked choke vs Michael Chiesa 4:37 into the fight,
Chiesa did not tap or go out but Mario Yamasaki stopped the fight. Yamasaki is often criticized for stopping fights too late,
but in this case, it was the opposite.
Very bad stoppage.
That Yamasaki decision to stop the fight robbed Lee of the tap and Chiesa of the escape, just let it go, it’s a choke.
No tap, that sucks, feel for Chiesa, look what Kish got out of earlier in the night, not over.
What’s a UFC card without some controversey, a little early imo but looked like he was going out.
Chiesa does go a little limp for a second in the replay.
Wow, amazing display of incompetance from Mario Yamasaki, Chiesa didn’t tap, unforgiveable.
So Yamasaki saw Chiesa’s hands floating in front of him and thought he was out, not an unreasonable conclusion.
Chiesa’s hands go limp and stop hand fighting, it looks like his body relaxes, I’m a little sympathetic to Yamasaki here,
still the wrong call.
The only 2 people in the world who saw that tap was Mario Yamasaki and Alistair Overeem.
Kevin Lee wants to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov in December in Detroit, Chiesa wants to rematch Lee on that card.
Kevin has won 5 straight fights.
Tim Boetsch TKOs Johny Hendricks in the 2nd round. Johny has 2 wins and 5 losses in his last 7 fights.
Next stop for Hendricks is Bellator, but first McDonalds.
Felice Herrig wins a unanimous decision over Justine Kish. 2 judges had it 30-26.
Felice has won 3 in a row.
Did Justine Kish go #2 on the mat during that fight? It sure looks like it.
Denis Siver wins by majority decision over BJ Penn. Siver won the third round dominantly,
BJ took the 2nd round after dropping Siver.
This was Siver’s first fight in 2 years.
Penn has lost his last 5 fights, he’s 1-7-1 in his last 9.
I really hope that’s the last we see the prodigy, if so thanks for all the violence and memories.
BJ is still a legend win, lose or draw, that’s the way I see him.
Dominick Reyes TKOs Joachim Christensen in 29 seconds.
Dominick is a former college football player, he’s 7-0 in MMA with 6 first round finishes, 4 of them in under a minute.
Tim Means wins a unanimous decision over Alex Garcia.
Clay Guida wins a unanimous decision over Erik Koch in Guida’s return to the lightweight divison.
Guida snaps a 2 fight losing streak. This was his 50th MMA fight.
Marvin Vettori wins a unanimous decision over Vitor Miranda.
Marvin has won 7 of his last 8.
Carla Esparza wins a unanimous decision over Maryna Moroz.
Carla is 2 and 1 since losing the title to Joanna Jedrzejczyk in March 2015.
This event was the second that the UFC hosted in Oklahoma city, the first was in
September 2009 when Nate Diaz fought Melvin Guillard.
Scott Coker expects to do another pay per view early next year.
Chael Sonnen thinks a fight with Rory MacDonald is inevitable and Rory says he’s ready to solve this whenenver Chael is.
Tito Ortiz is retired but Chael, Chuck Liddell and Ryan Bader still want to fight him in Bellator.
Tony and Khabib squabbling on social media, Tony ends up getting called a bastard.
And Michael Chandler’s face after the stool is pulled from underneath him.
