According to Dana White the fight beat the pay per view record by a lot.
UFC president Dana White noted that the Mayweather McGregor fight set the new pay per view record by a very large sum.
The previous record was 4.4 million buys for the Mayweahter Pacquiao fight in 2015.
That would mean Mayweather has been involved in all 4 of the biggest pay per views of all time as #3 would be his fight with De La Hoya,
and #4 would be his fight with Canelo Alvarez
Mayweather says he’s retired, Conor has interest in doing a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz. Another potential fight would be defending his
lightweight title vs the winner of the interim title fight between Kevin Lee and Tony Ferguson.
Miguel Cotto fought on the exact same night as Mayweather vs McGregor. That fight peaked at 805,000 views, and averaged 730,000.
The UFC’s next event is this Saturday in Rotterdam.
